Anatomical Width Engineering

More Room Where Your Foot Needs It.

Engineered interior proportions create added space through the forefoot and toe area, allowing the foot to sit more naturally without compromising the silhouette of the shoe.

Why Anatomical Width Matters

The shape inside a shoe can matter just as much as the shape you see. Anatomical proportions create room where the foot naturally needs it.

Forefoot Space

Added interior room gives the front of the foot more space without making the shoe feel oversized.

Natural Toe Freedom

More usable space allows the toes to sit and move with less crowding.

Balanced Movement

Proportioned interior volume helps the foot sit more naturally within the shoe.

The Anatomical

Fit System

Every curve and proportion is considered from the inside out, creating usable space through key areas of the forefoot while preserving a refined exterior silhouette.

How it Works

1

Wider Forefoot Volume

Added room across the front of the shoe helps reduce crowding around the forefoot.

2

Contoured Shape

Interior proportions follow the natural transition from the midfoot into the forefoot.

3

Flexible Forefoot Zone

The front of the shoe allows natural movement as the foot bends through each step.

4

Balanced Interior Volume

Space is distributed through the shoe to create a secure fit without unnecessary compression.

Space Without Sacrificing Shape.

More usable room inside the shoe doesn't have to mean a wider-looking silhouette. Anatomical proportions are engineered to balance forefoot space with a refined exterior profile.

Frequently Asked Questions

Anatomical Width Engineering refers to how the interior shape and proportions of the shoe are developed around the natural width of the forefoot. It creates more usable space around the toes and front of the foot without simply making the entire shoe wider.

Not necessarily. Anatomical Width Engineering focuses on where interior space is placed within the shoe. Some COSY ISLAND styles may also be available in dedicated wider fits, but the technology itself is about creating more natural forefoot proportions rather than uniformly increasing the width of the entire shoe.

The external silhouette and the usable interior space are not exactly the same. By adjusting the internal width, depth and positioning of the forefoot area, COSY ISLAND can create additional room inside while preserving a more refined pointed shape outside.

We recommend choosing your usual size based on the fit guidance provided for each style rather than automatically sizing up. Moving up a size can change the overall length and heel fit without necessarily creating the right kind of forefoot space.
